Student Support Services
The wellbeing of students at Presentation College Windsor refers to action taken within our school by its leaders and
community members to promote and enhance student wellbeing of a personal, social, physical, emotional, mental or spiritual
nature. Key elements of student wellbeing are positive self-regard, respect for others, positive relationships, responsible
behaviours and personal resilience.
The wellbeing of students at PCW is provided for by a partnership between staff, parents and students which underpins the
academic, emotional and spiritual dimensions of the entire College community. Pastoral care programs are carefully designed
to nurture and support the individual, encouraging difference and faith in oneself as well as others
The Homeroom group is the basis of the Pastoral Care program with Homeroom teachers playing a key role in ensuring the needs
of students in their care are addressed. The focus of the program works to develop in each student a sense of connectedness
and the capacity to relate effectively with others and to foster leadership qualities and a sense of justice local and
Learning support is provided at PCW for all students requiring additional support or enrichment programs. The school has
specialist staff providing individual or small group programs, located within the student services area.
Trained counsellors are available if required for counselling - supporting the school community on a wide range of issues
such as educational, personal, and family or peer related nature. College counsellors offer support to students and families
and are involved in running programs that assist in building resilience in students. Relaxation strategies and stress
management workshops are an avenue of offering students ongoing support throughout their studies.
