Windsor Project
Being committed to the improvement of student learning, PCW has developed a research partnership with Swinburne University of
Technology’s Brain Science Institute to explore the links between learning and emotional intelligence – this is the Windsor
Project.
The purpose of the Windsor Project is to gain an understanding of the relationship between emotional intelligence,
personality, intelligence, school engagement and adolescent academic achievement. The research supplements the existing
school and external data that contemporary practice requires and which assists us in the development of each student’s
potential.
The term ‘Emotional Intelligence’ generally refers to one’s ability to assess and manage the emotions of yourself and
others. Students with high emotional intelligence perform well under pressure, display high levels of empathy, remain
calm and focussed when under stress and are motivated and can identify their own strengths and weaknesses.
PCW works with students developing their competencies, enhancing their relationships between peers, teachers and family
and improving their engagement with school, academic achievement, social behaviours and psychological health.
