Excellence In VCE 2016

We are very proud of our VCE 2016 results; our goal to raise the academic bar has certainly been achieved this year. 100% of our girls completing VCE did so successfully. 12.4% of our girls received an ATAR of 90 and above and 37.1% received an ATAR of 80 and above. We also congratulate our International Students who have also done very well. Our median study score has improved to 31 and our median ATAR has improved to 74.4.

We are very proud of our College Dux, Lilith Rowles with an ATAR of 98.85 putting her in the top 2% of the state and almost 40% of our girls in the top 20% of the state.

We should also be proud that we are an inclusive school that gives every student who wishes to undertake VCE that opportunity. We also congratulate our girls who also successfully attained their VCAL certificate.

Farewell Year 12

Last week we farewelled our Year 12s. The Graduation Mass was a deeply moving and heart-warming liturgy with the theme of “Moving Beyond the Gate.” This was followed by an Assembly which recognised each student in her respective House and individuals with subject and special awards. The College celebrated this important stage with a series of events beginning with the Year 12 breakfast, the whole school assembly, the Graduation Mass at St. Mary’s East St. Kilda and finally the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony in the school hall.

Rahilly Building Refurbishment

Our students in Years 7 and 8 have been enjoying the new Rahilly Building and it has been wonderful to see them utilising the new learning spaces. The Senior students have also been using the new breakout spaces with various assessments and tasks that they are working on. The breakout spaces have been minimally furnished to ensure that the students and teachers drive how the spaces are used, rather than the furniture prescribing learning. The Inquiry spaces are also going to reflect the learning occurring in these spaces with the girls having an integral voice in how their learning will be displayed. It is an exciting time for our community, highlighting that learning is our core purpose and that the learner and the teacher are highly valued.

The CECV Child Safety Working Party is committed to facilitating the ongoing sharing of school stories and approaches as a way of affirming the great work being done in schools and also to act as a catalyst for other schools.

A total of nine Catholic schools in Victoria participated in the filming and this has resulted in a number of videos capturing school stories of child safety practice, highlighting a distinctive focus in each school.
