Printing and Photocopying Costs

Most of the printers at the college are networked and shared amongst network users. When logged onto a collegegYou will be assigned the nearest printer to your location. There are also a few Multi-Function units (Print/Photocopy/Scanning devices) which are also networked. Two Xerox machines are located in the library for all users, and two high-speed Xerox machines are located in the Convent print room for staff use only.

Print and photocopy jobs are charged at the following rates...

  B & W Colour
A4 5 cents 20 cents
A3 10 cents 40 cents

All college ICT users (staff & students) will have a Printing Account that tracks and helps manage printing and photocopying jobs. Costs incurred by staff will be allocated against individual or departmental budgets. Students costs will be met by a combination of a college allocated portion and their own personal funding.

Students

Students will be allocated $10.00 into their print accounts at the start of each semester. If and when this credit is depleted, all print and copying jobs will be denied and a popup will inform the user that there is not enough money in the account. Students are required to "top up" their account if they wish to continue printing/copying documents. Payment for print credit is accepted at either the accounts department in the administration building or at the circulation desk within the college library.

A credit "top up" is needed here to proceed.

Staff

Staff will be allocated $50.00 into their print accounts at the start of each calendar month. If and when this credit is depleted, all print and photocopying jobs will be denied and a popup will inform the user that there is not enough money in the account. If further printing or copying is required, staff will need to request a top up of their account via the business manager.

As of January 2010, ICT Services have created Shared Accounts in the PaperCut print accounting system. All staff will be allocated against one or more faculties or departments. When printing a document or swiping your Staff ID card on a copier, you will be required to select the appropriate account from a list before document is processed. See the article Working with Shared Accounts for further information.
