The English Faculty strives to develop confident communicators, imaginative thinkers and informed global citizens by focusing on developing the core skills of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. Our remarkable teachers take pride in delivering an engaging and differentiated Curriculum, whilst developing and enhancing students’ English skills in a dynamic, positive, learning environment.

VCE students are offered English, English as an Additional Language (EAL), Literature and English Language.

Students in Years 8–10 may choose from Electives which are designed to inspire and cultivate creative writing skills, as well as explore various means and modes of communication.

Motivated to inspire and offer multiple pathways for student self-expression, our innovative teachers offer many extra-curricular opportunities. Students are genuinely excited to participate, generating a vibrant learning culture, with links to the College and wider Community through publications and performances.

Writing opportunities include: the Presentation College Windsor Writers’ Collective, the Writers in Residence Program, the annual Shared Stories Anthology and participation in the national, Write-a-Book-in-a-Day  Competition. Additionally, the annual Presentation College Windsor Short Film Festival celebrates students’ script-writing and film-making talents, with the winner selected by judges from the Entertainment Industry. 

Public Speaking opportunities include DAV Debating from Years 9–12, and the Year 7–10 Public Speaking Competition.
